Hands-Only CPR

February 25, 2019
  • Partnership between the IRONMAN Foundation and the American Red Cross provides the opportunity for more than 700 individuals to partake in hands-only CPR training.
  • In July 2017, more than 700 IRONMAN Lake Placid athletes, spectators and volunteers were able to receive hands-only CPR training during race week. Through this initiative, the IRONMAN Foundation and the American Red Cross helped increase the survival rate of victims that go into cardiac arrest by double and/or triple the rate if assisted by a bystander utilizing their Hands-Only CPR training! In conjunction with this service project, the IRONMAN Foundation provided $5,000 in grant funding to the American Red Cross.
