What a boot-scootin-boogie of a time we had down in the Great State of Texas for the first full U.S. IRONMAN event of the season: IRONMAN Texas! One thing you can always count on down in The Woodlands is, that you can’t ever count on the weather! Luckily for our IRONMAN Foundation Athletes, race day on Saturday ended up being an absolutely wonderful day. How could it not be, when at the end of the day, you get to come across an IRONMAN Finish Line with the knowledge that you have left your legacy in the IRONMAN Texas community far beyond race day?

At IRONMAN 70.3 Oceanside 2017, the IRONMAN Foundation partnered with the Challenged Athletes Foundation to host a Junior Seau Foundation adaptive surf clinic for children with physical challenges where they learned to paddle, surf and catch some waves. The IRONMAN Foundation launched our first charitable givebacks and multiple initiatives for the 2017 season at IRONMAN 70.3 Oceanside, which took place on Sunday, April 1. Over $33,000 in charitable giveback to non-profit initiatives and groups will be awarded in the greater Oceanside, California community. “We are honored to support so many outstanding local community organizations,” said Sarah Hartmann, Community Relations Manager for The IRONMAN Foundation. “Together we are creating a lasting and tangible impact in Oceanside. Last year, volunteer grant funding was distributed among 47 community groups in the region.” Over 300 Community Fund athletes raced at IRONMAN 70.3 Oceanside in support of IRONMAN Foundation programs, and their incredible generosity will help fund vital programs and fulfill our mission to create positive tangible impact in IRONMAN race communities. There were lots of high fives as the athletes entered the water on a very brisk race morning, and huge smiles when they crossed the finish line near Oceanside Pier. It was a perfect day to race!
– Mike Reilly, who has called half a million athletes across the finish line, will add to his total at the 2024 Athletic Brewing IRONMAN Lake Placid triathlon, part of the VinFast IRONMAN North America Series
– Ambassador team includes 20 carefully selected age group athletes led by recently retired “Voice of IRONMAN” and Ambassador Team Captain, Mike Reilly – 2023 IRONMAN Foundation schedule consists of 18 service projects with a focus on DE&I, military & first responders, volunteerism, as well as health & wellness
– Milestone commemorates numerous achievements made across two decades, including monumental partnerships and millions raised for race communities – The IRONMAN Foundation kicks off anniversary year with Team IMF Webinar hosted by Ambassador Captain and IRONMAN Hall of Fame member, Mike Reilly
– $20,000 worth of bicycles and toys to be delivered to 4KIDS Southwest Florida by Country Music artist Ryan Kinder and The IRONMAN Foundation staff
– The IRONMAN Foundation supports the Kona Community Aquatic Center with $100,000 in grant funding – Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation awarded Dave Orlowski Memorial Grant as part of $40,000 provided by the IRONMAN Foundation
