The IRONMAN Foundation® Community Fund will distribute $45,000 in grant funding to non-profit initiatives and groups in the greater Panama City Beach, Florida community in conjunction with the 2015 IRONMAN® Florida triathlon taking place on Saturday, November 7, 2015. The IRONMAN Foundation Community Fund provides community and volunteer grant opportunities to non-profit organizations where U.S. IRONMAN® events are held. In 2015, The IRONMAN Foundation will provide more than $1.5 million to support the needs of IRONMAN race communities across North America.

“The birth of IRONMAN started with U.S. Naval Commander John Collins and wife, Judy, issuing a challenge to combine the 2.4-mile Waikiki Roughwater Swim with 112 miles of the Around-O’ahu Bike Race, followed by a 26.2-mile run on the same course as the Honolulu Marathon. In 1978, 15 competitors embraced the challenge and the world’s most demanding and iconic endurance race began,” said Andrew Messick, Chief Executive Officer for IRONMAN. “We are humbled to go back to our military roots with this incredible event and are honored to have The IRONMAN Foundation make this donation to the Navy SEAL Foundation and give back to those who serve our nation every day.”
– Mike Reilly, who has called half a million athletes across the finish line, will add to his total at the 2024 Athletic Brewing IRONMAN Lake Placid triathlon, part of the VinFast IRONMAN North America Series
– Ambassador team includes 20 carefully selected age group athletes led by recently retired “Voice of IRONMAN” and Ambassador Team Captain, Mike Reilly – 2023 IRONMAN Foundation schedule consists of 18 service projects with a focus on DE&I, military & first responders, volunteerism, as well as health & wellness
– Milestone commemorates numerous achievements made across two decades, including monumental partnerships and millions raised for race communities – The IRONMAN Foundation kicks off anniversary year with Team IMF Webinar hosted by Ambassador Captain and IRONMAN Hall of Fame member, Mike Reilly
– $20,000 worth of bicycles and toys to be delivered to 4KIDS Southwest Florida by Country Music artist Ryan Kinder and The IRONMAN Foundation staff
– The IRONMAN Foundation supports the Kona Community Aquatic Center with $100,000 in grant funding – Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation awarded Dave Orlowski Memorial Grant as part of $40,000 provided by the IRONMAN Foundation
